Pupil Reports & Parents Meetings

Pupil reports will be sent home on Thursday 23rd April and you will have an opportunity to meet with your child’s class teacher to discuss this. A timetable will be available on your class noticeboard, Please sign in for your choice of time, or ring the school and we can discuss a time slot, thanks.

Mrs Mc Gowan’s Parent interviews will be held on 18th, 19th and 20th and Mrs Symington’s on 25th, 26th, 27th and 29th

Miss Balls Maternity Leave

Begins Monday 11th April, and her last day in school before her baby will be Friday 8th April. We hope she has a bit of a rest before the birth and wish her well! Good luck Miss Ball!

Mrs Shaw will be covering for Miss Ball in N2 , Monday to Thursday, and Mrs Gillespie on Fridays until the end of June.

Sensory Workshop

Please let us know if you are interested in attending. This will run 7-8pm in early May-dates to follow.

Visit to Holywood library

Children who were unable to visit the Skainos Centre last month will be visiting the library at Holywood Arches for a story and rhyme session. Children who remain in school on this day will take part in a drum circle workshop– Parent Volunteers are welcome to accompany us over.

 

 Sponsored Singalong

A big thank you to everyone who supported this event and donated sponsorship money. The children had a great time performing and we raised a fantastic total of £1004 for school funds to date.  We would be happy to receive any outstanding sponsor money, please see class teacher.

Our PTA raised a further £133.00 from the ballot for the beautiful Easter Baskets. Thank you!

Spring/Growth/Fairy Tales

 

This month we are learning about spring and growing. We will be planting different types of seeds and caring for them as they grow. We will be observing signs of spring in our environment and talking about the changes in weather and outdoors which come with springtime and new growth.

We will be focusing on the colours green and yellow and diamond shapes.

 

We will read, act, and have puppet shows of:

· Jack and the Beanstalk

· Goldilocks and the 3 bears

· 3 Billy Goat’s Gruff

· The 3 Little Pigs

· The Gingerbread Man

Thursday 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th with our Parent Worker Siobhan

 

 

 Eco News

Plant sunflowers/potatoes/bean plants/cress. Make bottle feeders.

If you wish to be involved in helping with the gardening please speak to a member of staff.

A Big Thank-you to all our Parent Volunteers for all their help in the Big Spring Clean Up. Our outdoor area is looking great!

Our PTA is planning to re-paint our outdoor house– any donations of paint (bright or pastel colours) would be welcome, thanks!
